My family is here on vacation and we had to do an emergency dentist visit. I was quite nervous bring my daughter to a dentist I didn't know anything about! What a wonderful caring dentist office! Dr. Greg and the others made her feel comfortable right away. The exam went well and I felt they were very honest. These are kind, professional, relaxed, people in a clean comfortable office. I have been telling my friends to bring their families there :)
– Thanks again, Joy
Dr. Glavan, Lori, Amber & Jill,
I will never have an appropriate way to express how much you have blessed me and how much it really means to me.
I know there is still much work to be done, but your acceptance of me as a patient – given limited insurance – and your care to my dental needs over the years… has been extraordinary.
I almost could not contain my tears today when I saw the first amazing result and the first repaired tooth. I felt a confidence to smile that I have not felt in a very long time. You have greatly blessed me and I am so very thankful to you all.
– Forever Thankful, Dave C.
Dear Dr. Greg & Team,
We have been seeing Dr. Greg since our children were first adopted. The entire team has always been welcoming and accommodating for our children who all have special needs: including developmental delay, fetal alcohol syndrome, and mental health issues.
The care we receive is professional and thorough, but always provided in such a personal manner that makes every patient know they matter to the practice!
Your team and the excellent services you provide are well worth the drive from Kimball! We will continue to refer friends and family your way.
Thank you for truly caring about EVERY patient!
– Judy L.
Maintaining good oral hygiene is one of the most important things you can do for your teeth and gums. Daily preventative care like brushing and flossing combined with regular dental checkups and cleanings will help prevent serious issues, like decay and gum disease.
Adults over age 35 are apt to lose more teeth to gum diseases than from cavities. Periodontal, or gum, diseases are caused by plaque. Contributing factors include smoking, diabetes, stress, clenching and grinding teeth, medication and poor nutrition. While early symptoms of gum disease include inflamed and bleeding gums, as the disease progresses, gum tissue and the bone that holds the teeth in place can deteriorate and lead to tooth loss if left untreated.
Daily preventative care like brushing and flossing combined with regular dental checkups and cleanings will help prevent these serious issues.
Children of all ages can be nervous about visiting a dentist. Crow River Dental is a family dentist that creates a fun, yet educational atmosphere for children to become comfortable while visiting with us. During your child's first visit, we will gently examine their teeth and gums in a non-threatening and friendly way. During the exam, we will check for decay and potential problems with your child's bite, gums and jaw.
It is generally recommended that a child be seen by a family dentist by the age of 3, or sooner if problems occur.

TMJ & Jaw Therapy
TMJ, or temporomandibular joint, disorders occur as a result of problems with the jaw, jaw joint and surrounding facial muscles that control chewing and moving the jaw. TMJ can be caused by grinding or clenching teeth, stress, or arthritis and can cause severe pain in the face, jaw, neck and shoulders, or around the ear when chewing, speaking or opening your mouth wide.
Once diagnosed with TMJ, we typically recommend massage therapy to relax your muscles, wearing a mouth guard at night to relieve pressure and taking anti-inflammatory medications. For the most severe cases, surgery may be considered.
