After more than 20 years in dentistry, Dr. Glavan started his own practice, opening Crow River Dental in January 2012. It was a dream come true.
A dream that started when he was just a kid, in awe of all the instruments his childhood dentist used on a daily basis.
"I've always wanted to be a dentist," he said. "I remember watching Dr. Nelson as a kid, thinking about how much I wanted to play with his toys."
Dr. Glavan, who grew up in White Bear Lake and has family ties to the Iron Range, graduated from the University of Minnesota with a major in biochemistry and a concentration in chemistry. He attended the University of Minnesota's School of Dentistry and worked for 3M's medical products division where he became an expert in infection control, and later served as a consultant for their dental products division.
Dr. Glavan is married and has two grown daughters. He is a licensed fireworks display operator in Minnesota who volunteers with Northern Lighter Pyrotechnics, a group that puts on fireworks displays including the Delano Fourth of July Celebration. Dr. Glavan also volunteers with the Iron Range Historical Society.
Dr Glavan is also an Associate Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute.

Dr. Neil is originally from Grand Forks, where she graduated from the University of North Dakota with a biology degree and a minor in Spanish. She earned her doctor of dental surgery (DDS) from the University of Minnesota’s School of Dentistry.

Amber works as a dental hygienist at Crow River Dental, where she cleans and X-rays teeth, and educates patients about dental hygiene.
"I love meeting new people, catching up with patients and helping them learn how to keep their teeth and gums healthy," she said. "It's nice when you can have fun and work at the same time."
A graduate of Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Amber has 14 years of experience in the dental industry, including a stint as a dental assistant working with Dr. Greg Glavan in Howard Lake.
Amber, originally from Pierz, is married with two young children.
After 20 years in the industry, what keeps Lori invested in her dental career? The patients.
"Because I talk with patients on a regular basis, I feel like I really get to know them," she said. "I love being able to help people every day."
Lori's background in dental assisting makes her an asset to the Crow River Dental team, where she does everything from scheduling appointments to dealing with insurance companies and answering patient's questions about treatments or procedures.
Lori grew up in Zimmerman and previously worked with Dr. Greg Glavan for more than seven years at a dental clinic in Howard Lake.
